There are many things that are great about Herefordshire and one of the best is the cider! Here are a few images taken while visiting my friend Chloé at her family farm, these apples are transported into Hereford and used to produce Bulmers. You know its autumn when the city smells of cider… get drinking!

Cardigan Bay

Cardigan bay visiting my dear friend Maya before she heads off on more travels. I love the first image in the set not just aesthetically but because it talks so much about where she is in her life right now. Shot at sunrise on top of mwnt, the image includes the caravan park she used to visit with her mum. I was only there for the day but managed to see so much in a day- another highlight was watching seal pups from the cliff top!

Whilst staying in Fort Myers Beach, Florida I was lucky enough to experience some awesome storms, here are a few images taken from the beach during a night storm which is truly a spectacular sight! The first image was taken looking south towards Lovers Key, the line of light travelling across the image is a plane heading to Fort Myers Airport, so as you can probably tell I used a fairly long aperture and a tripod.

Anyone that knows my boyfriend will know how much he loves golf! I’ve begun to understand the appeal especially on a course as beautiful as Wormsley on a summers afternoon. These images were taken during Devs practice for a match with his new driver. The camera was set at 250th of a second so you can start to understand the speed and agility involved in the swing in itself! The second photo down is one of my favourite portraits of him, as his stance after teeing off is something that reminds me of him more than any close up portrait of his face could.

The Final Piece

dawn is a photographic and audio exploration of Warren Wood, Radnorshire. Transitory in both its position between England and Wales and its placing at a shift in landscape, Radnor valley is a territory of my families past. The abundant sound of dawn chorus is focused upon, a phenomenon where the male bird defends its territory and attempts to seduce the female with its species unique call. Photographs document first light as it seizes the silence and a selective viewpoint is employed to suggest a level of intimacy with the habitat. The space between the ground and treetops works to recreate a specific time and place, to highlight the resonance of the unheard birdsong present in many environments which in turn bring to light those close connections between humans and animals
